* Sale of International Baked Good, including our famous Baklava, Greek, Middle Eastern and Eastern European holiday baked good.
* Russian Tea and "tea room" baked goods.
* International soups and breads - for sale on site.
* International Specialty Foods - To take home & enjoy!

* Sale of St. George's Soap - a handcrafted olive oil and herbal based soap made by St. George's parishioners.

* St. George's Foodpantry Annual Fundraising Event: "Give a Can; Get a Cookie" - Bring canned goods and staple food items or your donation of financial support to help the important work of St. George's Food Pantry which feeds the hungry in our Pharr neighborhood!

St. George’s Orthodox Christian Church cordially invites you to attend our upcoming Annual Holiday Open House & International Bake Fest, to be held on Saturday, December 8th, 2007 from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM at the Church’s Parish Hall located at 704 W. Sam Houston Street in Pharr, Texas. The Bake Fest will again be open briefly from noon until 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 9th, for the sale of any left over baked goods and craft items only.
Come and experience a taste of Eastern European and Mediterranean hospitality and holiday flavors. The Open House will feature St. George’s famous diversity of international baked goods, as well as Greek coffee and Russian Tea Shoppe. The “Give a Can; Get a Cookie” will again help collect canned goods and financial contributions for St. George’s Food Pantry feed the hungry campaign. Throughout the day, Eastern European Christmas Carols will be sung by the church choir. Church Tours and talks about the ancient Orthodox Christian faith will be offered to those who are interested.
This will be a festive time for getting to know and visiting with neighbors, friends and guests of St. George’s. We will be selling Baklava, International Baked Goods and Ethnic Foods. The Parish also offers its wonderful homemade, olive-oil based Saint George Soap, as well as find handcrafts and folk art from the Ukraine, Russia, Greece and Poland. St. George’s Bookstore & Gift Shop will be open for the day, with holiday cards, icons, monastery beeswax candles and gift items available for sale. Come and enjoy the festivities – and Christmas shop as well!
For larger quantity orders of baklava or any of specialty baked goods or ethnic foods desired for special events or entertainment during the holiday season, please place an order with us before the December 15th deadline.
